The Dog Food Project: Some News about Menadione in Dog Food

I've been getting emails here and there from concerend Dog Food Project readers and occasionally also have contacted manufacturers in regards to Menadione in pet foods. Here are some news I'd like to share:

Newman's Own Organics is currently looking into eliminating Menadione from their products but have not mentioned a timeline yet.

Dr. Melissa Brookshire, the Director of Veterinary Services at Diamond Pet Foods kindly replied to my email and told me that Menadione has already been removed from their Chicken Soup line of dog food and will be removed from the Premium Edge brand soon. She also mentioned that it will be removed from the remainder of their formulas, probably after the first of the year. The packaging will be changed to reflect the removal of this ingredient as it comes up for reprinting.
